Strengthening cooperation between the armed forces of Iran and Pakistan will bring peace and stability to the two nations and the region as a whole, a Pakistani army statement says.
According to IRNA’s reporter, the public relations department of the Pakistan Army released a statement on bilateral cooperation on Monday night quoting statements from visiting Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a meeting with the chief of Pakistan’s army Lieutenant General Syed Asim Munir in Islamabad.
The talks between President Raisi and General Munir were primarily focused on issues of mutual interest, especially regional peace, stability and border security, it is stated in the army statement.
Both sides shared views on the necessity of strengthening bilateral cooperation and at the same time joint efforts for regional stability and economic prosperity, it said.
The commander of the Pakistani army described the Iran-Pakistan border as a “border of peace and friendship” and emphasized the need to improve coordination to prevent terrorists from jeopardizing the long-standing and fraternal relations between the two neighbors.
Public Relations of Pakistan Army stressed quoted Raisi that Iran and Pakistan can bring peace and stability to the two nations and the region by strengthening the cooperation between their armed forces.
President Raisi arrived in the capital of Pakistan on Monday at the head of a high-ranking political and economic delegation.
