Iran’s Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs Ensiyeh Khazali has urged international institutions to take appropriate measures to send food and medicine to the Gaza Strip.
Khazali issued the call in her speech at one of the round tables of the 68th meeting of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women on Tuesday.
I ask all of you and the international organizations and bodies active in the issue of women to take appropriate measures to reach these defenseless people with food and medicine, she said citing a UN report on the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, especially women and children who are dying of starvation.
Khazali expressed her gratitude for participating in the ministerial round table aimed at discussing ways to reduce women’s poverty and appreciated this opportunity to exchange experiences with other participants.
